::: this is the official pre order of the new a death cinematic release, PRELUDE TO THE NEW WORLD small format hand bound book and THE NEW WORLD full length cd. the images below are of an almost completed album and book cover. some printing and hand stamping still needs to be done. this is a limited edition hand made and hand bound release of 150 copies. the cd and book come in a small hand made and printed wooden box bound in intaglio printing paper and western red cedar veneer. each printed high quality cdr is housed in a hand printed brown paper envelope. to view more detail and production photos for this release please go here. the pre orders should start to ship within the next several weeks.

::: next up is a trailer for a forthcoming video for the title track of the new album, THE NEW WORLD. this video was written directed and edited by U.K. musician and filmmaker, frederick lloyd. he has done outstanding video and film work for numerous bands namely heinali and matt finney and sleepmakeswaves. matt also wrote the story and performed the the reading on THE NEW WORLD track. the full video is coming soon but for now please enjoy the trailer.

::: dose - 103 small doses presents the ekca liena/ a death cinematic split, PRETERNATURAL. this split release brings together two of the more underrated names working in drone. UK artist, ekca liena creates a dark, slowly unfolding, ambient landscapes that build in intensity over the three tracks on this disc. a death cinematic take a different approach, the layerered guitars swirl around each other like a hypnotic, slow-motion whirlwind. the two styles complement each other quite well. edition of 96. printed discs lavishly packaged in die cut sleeves with two inserts. preview the a death cinematic portion here.

simple box construction ::: end of summer update

::: originally this update was going to start with the announcement of a new a death cinematic and matt finney project called APORIA. there was even going to be a track or two up today but that is not how the universe will have it. i regret to have to say that APORIA is on hold, at least for now. there are personal issues that have to be worked out before we can move forward with this project. we hope to be able to get this going real soon. our apologies to all the people who showed us early support we will try to make it up to you all.

::: in other news. the split with ekca liena, PRETERNATURAL should be released next week on small doses records. simple box construction will only have a handfull of copies here for sale. european fans should try to contact ekca liena for some copies but my understanding is that most of them, if not all, are already spoken for. of course you will also be able to get a copy from small doses records. there will be a full write up and images of the packaging as well as streaming information here once the split becomes available. you can read the first review of this split here.

::: the pre orders for THE NEW WORLD will be up in the next couple of weeks. the cover fabrication has proved to be more involved then originally planned but it is all coming together. this album features matt's writing and reading on the title track which will be a fitting preview for what might come from APORIA. as work is being finished on THE NEW WORLD simple box construction would like to announce the next a death cinematic full length album called ....THE BIRDS OF DEATH.... this album is being mixed now and hopefully will be out by years end.

SBC - 015 ::: your fate twisting, epic in its crushing moments (cd ep)

::: SBC - 015 simple box construction presents the a death cinematic cd ep, YOUR FATE TWISTING, EPIC IN ITS CRUSHING MOMENTS. the premium quality taiyo yuden cdr was printed in-house and features just over a half hour worth of music. this release is limited to only 50 hand numbered copies and comes in a completely hand made gate fold case. preview the ep in its entirety here.

::: the cover consists of an in-house printed, hand cut and folded, card stock gatefold coated in polyurethane. interior panels feature a high quality premium photo paper print of the gallows drawing framed in a shellac coated red gum veneer. the lower panel is a hand punched and printed chipboard cd sleeve. the release comes with a poem which accompanies IN THE TUMBLING DAWN LIGHT, THEIR EYES FALL FROZEN THROUGH THE MIST AND RAIN and was typed on a vintage manual typewriter, it includes typos and other corrected mistakes. not all poem sheets look the same. the sheets are hand made japanese kozo paper. the paper was manufactured from scratch by simple box construction. the second item is a set of 3 water slide decals of the skull and cross bones drawing. printed in-house the set comes in a hand made vellum and shellac coated red gum veneer sleeve. the decals are not stickers! to use please read the instructions on the back of the carrying sleeve. you can see some examples where the decals can be used in the pictures. if the decal is applied to a mug or other dish-ware please be advised that it is not dishwasher safe. more detail images can be viewed in the simple box construction album for this release. for reviews of this release please go here.

SBC - 015 ::: update

::: a quick update on the YOUR FATE TWISTING, EPIC IN ITS CRUSHING MOMENTS ep. the first batch of pre orders has been sent out. thank you all for the leap of faith and support. and my apologies for any and all delays. this ep will be officially released on july 3, 2011 which means that the pre orders will end in the next few days. this is the last chance to get the ep at the pre order price.

::: there are a couple of extras that are now included with this release. first is a poem typed on handmade japanese kozo paper. the paper was made by me from scratch, from beating the plant fibers into pulp, to pulling and forming the sheets. the poem which accompanies IN THE TUMBLING DAWN LIGHT, THEIR EYES FALL FROZEN THROUGH THE MIST AND RAIN was typed on a vintage manual typewriter and it includes typos and other corrected mistakes. not all poem sheets look the same.

::: things here at simple box have been moving slowly but steadily. several things are nearing completion and one is ready for pre order. in addition to the releases mentioned below, a death cinematic has been preparing for the first ever live show, which has yet to be scheduled and writing/ posting things at SLUMBERING IN THE FIRES.

::: also coming very soon on dead accents is the long delayed and highly anticipated a death cinematic/ great falls split. the artwork is ready for the printers and includes layout, design and drwaings by demian johnston (great falls, dead accents) and photography by simple box construction.
